Fashion has changed dirasticly over the years. Women used to never show their bodys, and now a days women can't get enough. We feel the need to wear less to feel beautiful or "sexy", which doesn't make sense. Marilyn monroe was the biggest sex symbol back in the day, and she didn't feel the need to be super thin or dress a certain way to be beautiful, but now a days we feel that way, and it just doesn't make sense.

Does The Media Effect The Fashion Industry?
Think back from year to year.. the media most deffinetly effects the fashion industry. If it didn't fashion would never change. There would never be new styles or trends, always the same things. People see new trends on tv or in magazines, and they want what they see due to who is wearing it. If someone famous is wearing something your bound to want it and think it is the in style.

The Medium Is The Message
Recently my Media Studies class was divided into groups. Each group had a person they had to research and discuss in a presentation what impact they had on the media.
Each group discussed their person infront of the class in a powerpoint, and even one group presented their presentation as a funeral. No matter how they presented their presentations it tought us about their individual and how they were/are. We saw how each person impacted the media in some way. In the end each person showed us that the media is the message in some way.
What if none of it existed?
Imagine if there was no cable, radio, or news networks and only individuals created content. Without these things most of us would go crazy ! Most of the population lives for the content in the media. Can you just imagine life without Facebook, Twitter, or even Blogger. Where would Mrs. Smith make us write all of our blogs each week?
It's sad that we think that we couldn't possibly live without such things, but people use to all the time. It wasn't long ago that none of these social networks and such even existed. But the truth of the matter is that people now a days depend on the media to get their information from(not that it is always true), and there is no way to stop the media from growing. The world changes day by day and more ideas and creations are made.

How Does Media Effect Your Perception Of Reality
The media effects your perception of reality by momently letting you escape your mind and feel like your somewhere else in that moment. When someone is watching a movie they tend to get into character and their imagination runs wild. You feel like your actually there and can relate to everything going on.
Also, the media effects many people's perception of reality by making people believe they have to be a certain way. People think they have to dress and look a certain way due to the way people look on tv and magazines and such. People think that if your not a certain weight and height that your not beautiful, which isn't true.

House Hippo Evaluation
The house hippo commercial is a great way to show people to not always believe what you see on tv. The media sends you messages of what they want you to believe, rather then what is actually true. We as a society need to learn to analyze what we see or hear over the media more instead of always believing it.
